Two in one series ( Red Jhumka )

In this post I am showing you how to make a red quilling jhumka. You can make using any color to match your outfit. It is very easy to make a quilling jhumka. You can make them in different sizes , colors and styles.

The materials required are :

  • Quilling needle
  • Gold color quilling strips ( 5 mm )
  • Jump rings
  • Head pin
  • Beats
  • Pearl lace
  • Earring studs
  • Nose plier
  • Fevicol
  • White pearl
  • Ball chain ( gold )
  • Jhumka mould
The materials picture is shown in the previous post. Please refer.
The procedure for making the quilling jhumka is explained below:

Upper part:
  • Make a tight coil using 3 quilling strips of red color.  I have used 3 mm quilling strips for this.
  • Stick a red kundan in the middle and wrap the Gold Chain ( refer to materials picture ) around it.
  • For the edge stick the Stone Lace ( refer to materials picture ) around it. Here I have used the small stone lace.
  • Then stick the earring stud.

Lower part:
  • Make a tight coil by attaching 6 quilling strips of red color. I have used 3 mm quilling strips.
  • Make a cone using the jhumka mould ( whichever shape/size is suitable ). You can also make the cone without the mould as well.
  • Apply fevicol inside and outside of the cone.
  • Insert the Head Pin ( refer to material picture )in downward to upward direction.
  • Put the Beat  ( refer to material picture ) on the top of the cone and stick it.
  • Then put a red bead on top of the beat.
  • Then bend the head pin using nose plier and make a small loop.
  • Insert a jump ring to the loop.
  • Stick the stone lace to the edge of the cone. Here I have used big stone lace.
  • Put the completed cone to the earring stud to form a beautiful quilling jhumka.

The complete quilling jhumka will look like this :

You can use this earring  as a stud as well as a jhumka.
And please don't forget to apply a coat of transparent (clear ) nail polish to give it a shiny look. This will also make your earrings water proof.

Please refer to the video for making the quilling jhumka.
