Quilling Warli art

Hello Friends,

Warli Art is typically referred to the paintings done by the Warli people in North Sahyadri Range in India (outside of mumbai). For more details on the art you can refer to the wikipedia.I have tried to represent Warli art through Quilling . The trademark of Warli paintings is the use of geometric designs such as triangles, circles, squares, dots and crooked lines are used to depict human figures.
I have used the basic quilling shapes and designed the art work.Take a dark purple colour Kg cardboard. To represent the art I have used white colour quilling strips.

First you need to draw the perfect geometrical design. Refer the picture.

Note : Use only 3 mm quilling strips.

The concept is a simple bridal procession where you can see a group of dancers in the middle .

In the corners you can see four dancers playing the musical instruments.

  • One is beating the drum .
  • Second one  playing a trumpet
  • Third one playing dhol.
  • Fourth one playing dumbells

For the legs you need to place the quilling strip in a vertical fashion.
I hope the steps were useful to you all . Please leave your comments.
Happy Quilling.....
