Sunehri - My Quilling Saheli

 Dear Friends ,

This is Sunehri , my Quilling Saheli . She celebrates not just the beauty of Quilling , but ten golden years of my artistic journey . 

I always had a wish to make a life size quilling doll . The idea came to my thought in August 2022. Initially I had a plan to make a Quilling Doll of approx my size , so started with a rough drawing of the doll. I browsed  a few gown and dress designs to finalize the colours and designs. 

I finally came up with a Top Skirt dress design 

I decided on the colours and ordered quite  a few quilling strips from Moksha Quilling Hub. The Quilling strips from Moksha Quilling Hub are of very fine quality and colours are vibrant . Before i could start this project I got involved in other quilling projects so I had to give a break. 

I decided to make the base of the doll using KG Cardboard .

• Let me brief about the upper section of the doll dress ( Top ) . 

• Lets see the Skirt Portion 

• Once the basic Structure of the doll dress is ready , we need to start doing Quilling . I have used 5 mm Quilling Strips of different colours for the same .

Tight coils , lose coils , comb flowers , tear drop , marquise and many more quilling shapes are used  for the doll dress.

I had to complete this doll in series . Since I had other commitments to focus on. The final dress was still incomplete. After few years I started working on it and completed it. One good news is this doll is a celebration of my 10 years in Quilling art. I wanted to complete the 4.2 Ft quilling doll on the occasion of my 10 years quilling art work. Finally I was able to do it. 

Felt very happy and satisfied. 

The face I have used is a fibre glass face . The hands are made using quilling . I have used 10 mm skin colour strips.
