Doctor''s Day Special πŸ©ΊπŸ’‰- Quilling Doctors

Hi Friends,

To Celebrate National Doctor's Day let us thank all the doctors for their dedicated service πŸ™πŸ™.

I have made Quilling dolls to show my feelings for all the doctors. Lets see some cute doctors.  For the basic steps of doll making you can refer to my earlier posts.

Let me share some steps:

1. Face:

The face is made using 10 quilling strips (5 mm). I have used peach colour strips. For the back part use 3 mm black quilling strip. The neck is made using a single quilling strip (5 mm). Make a tight coil.

2. Body( coat ) :

Make a tight coil using 22 quilling strips (5 mm). Make a cone shape for the body. For this doll I have used white colour strips. Apply fevicol inside the cone. You have to be very careful while making the cone. Make it in the shape of a coat.  Once it dries , make the shirt , collar and the pockets by cutting the strips in appropriate shape. Put some buttons on the coat.

3. Pants:

Make a tight coil using 5 quilling strips. I have used blue colour for the pant. Make  long cone as shown. Apply fevicol inside the cone. You can refer the picture below after the face ,body and pants attached.

4. Stethoscope:

Refer to the picture for making the stethoscope. I have used only 3 mm quilling strips.

Make the shoes using 2 quilling strips each( 5 mm ). I have used black colour quilling strips. Draw the facial features to complete your doll.

For the girl doll I have used pink colour for the pants. You can use any colour of your choice.

I hope you liked these dolls.

Quilling Yoga asanas

 Hi friends,

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015.  Yoga is a physicalmental and spiritual practice

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.

On this context, I have made some Quilling dolls with some yoga asanas. I have made 10 quilling dolls each depicting a Yoga Asana.

I will show the steps of one doll, you can refer it and make the other dolls.

1. Face:

The face is made using 6 quilling strips (5 mm). I have used peach colour strips. The neck is made using a single quilling strip (5 mm). Make a tight coil.

2. Body:

Make a tight coil using 20 quilling strips (5 mm). Make a cone shape for the body. For this doll I have used yellow colour strips.

3. Hands and legs:

Each part of the hand is made using one and half strips. The leg part is made using 2 strips each. You need to cut one part of the leg to join it. Refer pic.

Attach all the body parts. Draw the facial features to complete the doll.

For each doll I have used different colour dress. And the position of the hands, legs and body will change according to the asana.

I hope you like it. πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

Father's Day Special

 Hello friends,

Father and daughter love is unique. My father has always been very loving, caring and supportive. He always stood by my side whenever I needed. Whenever someone scolds me, my father used to always come for my support and was pampered by him. He has and will always keep guiding me in every path of my life. I admire and respect him for all the support, he has been a silent pillar of our family. I dedicate this post to my dad. Love you Appa.

Thank you Appa for everything πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—πŸ’–

Polymer Clay Series ( My sweet doll )

 Hello friends,

Polymer Clay doll

This time I am showing you something very unique and creative art. Its Polymer clay . I am sure you all must have heard about it.

Polymer clay is a type of hardenable modeling clay. It typically contains no clay minerals, but like mineral clay a liquid is added to dry particles until it achieves gel-like working properties, and similarly, the part is put into an oven to harden.

I tried this art work for the first time . I brought the polymer clay kit online . I had no idea how to do it. Just opened a clay pack and started doing some shapes. I found it very soft and easy to mould. My first attempt was a cute doll. Me and my daughter started doing the doll features. Initially it was a tough task to mould . We kept on doing to get the grip of it.

I used a small rolling pin from my daughters kitchen set. First I made the clay flat , so that it was easy to mould. After making each shape I kept it on a butter paper so that it would be easy to remove.

Once all the doll parts are complete , I joined them . It was looking very cute. Now the tough part was baking it. I did not have oven at home. So did some trial with a pan. On the pan I kept a plate ( reverse ) . On that I kept the doll along with the butter paper.

I had no idea how much time it will take as it was the first time. I waited for half an hour and checked if it has hardened. It was still soft.

It took almost one hour to complete. I was very happy with the outcome. My daughter was also overjoyed to see the doll.

I hope you will like it.
