Quilling Wall decor

Quilling Wall Hanging

Today I am showing you something highly creative. This a quilling peacock wall hanging. The drawing of this artwork is made by my mother-in-law around 35 years back. I loved the drawing which inspired me to do quilling on that.

I would love to share my experience in making this. It took me a week’s time to make this excellent wall piece. I have used exceedingly small coils to make this. We may think that if its small its easy but no that is not the truth in quilling. I have used only 3 mm quilling strips. The whole drawing comprises of flowers, leaves and a beautiful Peacock. 

I enjoyed a lot making this beautiful wall piece. A perfect wall decor worth to be kept in your beautiful homes. You can also gift it to your dear ones.

Quilling Tribal Art

       

                       Tribal art is the visual arts and material culture of indigenous people. Typically it originates in rural areas.

I have made a beauifully quilled tribal art work. I have used a MDF board as the base. 

• First I painted the mdf board with some light shades of acrylic colours.
• I made the drawing of the tribal woman on the board.
• Next I had to decide on the colours .
• As the background was light shades , I had to go for dark colour quilling art.

I have depicted a beautiful tribal lady using quilling.

 

The first  lady is holding a pot on her head.

The second lady is holding a fruit basket

The third lady is holding a basket on her head.

I enjoyed  a lot doing this unique Quilling art work. It is a good Gifting idea for house warming functions. A unique  wall decor to decorate your beautiful home.

Quilling Mermaid Doll

Quilling Mermaid Doll

              I am sharing  a very cute and beautiful Quilling mermaid doll. The doll is made in the usual method . You can refer to my earlier posts for the complete doll making . 

After making the doll skirt , I have cut it into fringes to look like a mermaid costume. The doll is placed inside a plastic Jar. I have attached a motor to it to give a moving effect. You can put some balls inside the box to give some special effects while turning.
